Posts: 1 (03/30/09 8:41 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	Tags : binding, captain marvel, suicide squad, black panther I figured I should keep this all to one thread. So, I want to eventually bind a bunch of stuff. For Suicide Squad, I have #1-50 and the special with Doom Patrol, and I'm eventually going to buy 51-66 and that 8 issue mini that came out a couple of years ago. Is there anything I'm missing, like annuals or specials, or crossover issues? And where should I put the Doom Patrol/Suicide Squad special in? Between what issues? Next up is Peter David's Captain Marvel run from 2000, which I think is 35 issues, plus a 0 issue. I have the relaunch in trades so I don't need that. Are there any crossover issues or anything I'm missing? Annuals? Finally, Christopher Priest's run on Black Panther starting in 1998, 62 issues long. Are there any crossovers or annuals that I should know about? And any thoughts on adding the short-lived kind-of-sequel 7-issue-series The Crew? Also if anyone has issues 14, 16-18, 20-26 (especially 23, i can't find that anywhere), and wants to sell them, let me know! I could really use everyone's help because I'll hate myself if I bind stuff and then find out later I'm missing something. Thanks!

Plus, there's the 11-part Janus Directive that includes Checkmate #15-18, Manhunter #14, Firestorm #86, and Captain Atom #30. According to this site, the Doom Patrol/SS special should go after #10. Posts: 37 (03/31/09 1:58 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	Going from memory here, but there was a 6 or 7-part arc that ended the Black Panther book that kinda tied into the beginning of the Crew (or at least set up the White Panther). I'm planning on including it when I get around to binding my run (after I finish it).

I can't remember ever reading it. And what about that 12-issue SS series from 2001? I didn't ever even look at it--is it worth including? Ah, the meek. Playing the long game. Posts: 38 (03/31/09 11:02 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	If you want the Suicide Squad issues to make sense in your volume, you would need the rest of the Janus Directive issues, with the exception of the final part 11 which was a Captain Atom issue. It does noting to further the Suicide Squad except have a brief cameo by Amanda Waller. I just did the Janus Directive as a binding and can provide my map and pics of that if you'd like. There was also a Suicide Squad Annual that featured the Mark Shaw Manhunter. I'm debating whether that annual is necessary for a Manhunter bind I'm putting together, but I would absolutely put it in a Suicide Squad bind.

Posts: 253 (03/31/09 9:15 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	For the core Ostrander series, I included the following crossovers: * Parts of the Legends mini-series that introduces the new squad. * Secret Origins #14 that gives the squad's history * Fury of Firestorm #64 & Firestorm Annual #5 * Detective #582 - part of the millennium event that mirrors the squad issue * JLI #13 * Secret Origns #? - Nightshade story leads into the Nightshade odyssey * Manhunter #6, SS Annual 1 - completes the whatever happened to Argent subplot * Deadshot #1-4 * Checkmate! #15-18, Manhunter #14, Firestorm #86 - Janus Directive * War of the Gods #3 I also did a volume collecting their random post-Ostrander appearances. I included the Action and DC Comics Presents Forgotten Heroes issues on a whim since Rick is part of that team too. IF you collect the 8-issue mini, Don't forget the 2 checkmate issues. I just finished getting the David issues and want to map it out. Of course, Avengers Forever leads into it. There are issues of Thunderbolts featuring Marv that happen concurrently (and after) with the david run but those are not crossovers.

I just don't know where everything would fit. and as for the stuff that you posted, is it important? Is it written by Ostrander? Or is it just issues where the suicide squad show up? As for Captain Marvel, I'm not looking for every issue Genis-Vell appears in, because I don't think he was ever written well by anyone other than David. There was also a Dr. Light story in Secret Origins that fit into his portrayal on the squad but is not a direct tie-in. Ostrander did the Secret Origin of the squad, Legends, Manhunter, Firestorm and Deadshot. As far as important, it is in the eye of the beholder. Bear in mind that I enjoy assembling completist books. However, since Ostrander wrote most of hese appearances, they fit together pretty well. The SS issue of Secret Origins is important, establishing many subplots for the first year. Detective sets up the confrontation that plays out in the JLI crossover. Manhunter #6 is a bridge to the annual. Not critical but interesting. The Doom Patrol special is mainly a sideshow. I am thinking Kupperburg wrote it. Nothing important to the main series. Deadshot mini is important to fleshing out a main team member. The events in the Peacekeeper mini take place before the Janus Directive and I believe sometime before the creation of Checkmate, as Herry Stein was still with the CIA.
