Sooooo, Alan, could you explain about this Frog Thor character? When and how did this happen? I haven't been following Thor, oh, since Kirby left, so this is new. Looks like a clever concept for an old, outdated, washed up hero like Thor.

Here are some of the key issues: http://www.comics.org/details.lasso?id=41125 http://www.comics.org/details.lasso?id=41226 http://www.comics.org/details.lasso?id=41331
I thought that it was kind of funny and entertaining but was not sorry to see it end. Generally people who like to read their Thor seriously (too seriously) hated the frog-of-thunder story. In any case, it is an important and particularly notorious episode in the long history of the book and there is no excuse for not having read it. Especially when you can find it conveniently in the Walt Simonson Thor Visionaries series, along with some of the absolutely best Thor stories since Lee & Kirby.

Sorta like the guy who came up with a character based on a Red Robin!! Treacherous cur!
