Nicely said, Degenerate--and I suppose that for the agnostic crowd like myself, you're damned if you do, damned if ya...well, you know!

When I was 18 & first moved outta my parents house, I had this REALLY shabby apartment in town--it was the bottom half of a dilapidated old house (and I swear to God it had a plastic fireplace glued to the wall--complete with a 'painted fire'). Of course, I was around 18 & thrilled at having my own place.
The second floor was occupied by these 2 guys around my age, and every night--screaming, laughing, loud music, stuff crashing down everywhere; just a nightly pandemonium. ( But when you grow up with 6 brothers n' sisters and one bathroom & umpteen other pets n' people everywhere, you'll settle for anything!)

My third month there, one night I realized it was all quiet upstairs. A couple days later, my landlord called me & asked if I'd like a free months rent--sure, what do I have to do? He told me the upstairs tenants had left without a forwarding address, or paying their last months rent. If I was willing to go up there and clean it up for him, he'd give me a free month or rent. I said NO PROBLEM.

When I went up there, I swear to God (no pun intended) it looked like a hurricane had been there--the place was in shambles, holes all over the walls, big burn holes in the crappy couch and on the rug, flies everywhere, kitchen was covered in a sea of dirty dishes and fast food leftovers, trash and overflowing ashtrays and empty liquor bottles and beer cans EVERYWHERE.

In the corner of these losers bedroom were these 2 boxes, each one filled with these blue softbound books--"The Book of Mormon". 2 boxes of them? I called my landlord and told him about the place, then asked him if he knew what these dudes did for a living, or were they students at the local college. He said they were Mormon missionaries & spent their days going door to door, asking if people knew about Mormons, would they like a free Bible, etc.

We never found out what happened to those 2 guys--I hope the Mormon Police didn't get them, cause they sure didn't practice what they preached!
