First, let me say if this has been previously discussed anywhere, I apologize. Anyway, I was thinking yesterday about the upcoming INCREDIBLE HULK OMNIBUS, and
it struck me that Marvel missed a golden opportunity to do something a bit unique with it. As it stands now, the book is pretty much a duplication of HULK
MASTERWORKS Volumes 1-3, reprinting INCREDIBLE HULK #1-6, TALES TO ASTONISH #59-101, and IH #102. About 680 pages of material, plus promised extras, so a
respectably-sized book. Here's my thought, though: how cool would it have been if they would have included, in chronological order, all of the Hulk's
guest appearances that were published between the cancellation of his own book (INCREDIBLE HULK #6) and the start of his new series in TTA (#60, though he
guest-starred in the Giant-Man story in #59), when Stan was trying to keep interest for the character growing . As far as I know these stories have NEVER been
collected together between 2 covers before, and it just seems this Omnibus would have been the best opportunity for it. They could have included FANTASTIC FOUR
#12, AVENGERS #1-3, FANTASTIC FOUR #25 & 26, AVENGERS #5, and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #14. Now, admittedly, this would have increased the page count by about
200 pages, but I think it would have been well worth it to have these stories collected together, and would have made the Omnibus something a bit more special
than just a regurgitation of HULK MASTERWORKS #1-3. Thoughts?
