#193 had no ads, and just a truncated letter column. However, even with the shortened space, it's revealed that #191's reprint was brought on by
Sekowsky being ill at the time. Mike also was very forthright about the schizophrenia of the strip, since it lurched from other worldly dimensions to social
commentary (one of its many delights, IMO), as he solicited reader input:
The next issue brought a new masthead, as the column was now dubbed "Wonder Woman's Write-In" to be more "hip", I suppose. Judging by
the letters, it seems many readers were still fixated on Wonder Woman's old costume. One reader (presumably a youngster) even asks for it to be sent to
her, since she no longer uses it!!:
Just one ad this time, for a Viking Prince DC Special, and a Superboy giant:

I agree, Patrick - Sekowsky was running out of gas here. As seen by his comments in the LCs, it's apparent he had become increasingly disenchanted
with DC, and more specifically, Infantino. His last 3 stories seemed especially lackluster - although I'd like to have seen that "unforgettable"
tale he was planning.
Dorothy Woolfolk was brought in as an editor at DC in 1971 for some of the romance titles and other titles geared toward the gals, such as Lois Lane
and Supergirl. She became editor of Wonder Woman with issue #197, but whether she was brought in just to hold the seat warm for Denny
O'Neil, or she really had plans to do something with the character is a mystery to me. She presided over the next 2 issues, which carried reprints of
earlier mod stories, and printed some letters that commented on the later Sekowsky tales:
As to the future direction of the book, not much was revealed - however, there was this little teaser by Giordano. Maybe the incoming editor was channeling
That should wrap up this installment... but not so fast... there's a little matter of a story being passed over that needs to be rectified.
Stay tuned for .... the missing "mod" chapter!!
