Nope, not facetious at all. I love Dolly! She is such a huge philanthropist here in East Tennessee and elsewhere as well. Every month, my son (and every other child in Knox, Seveir, and many other counties) gets a story book from her foundation and will continue to do so until he's five. She's pumps a ton of money into charities from Dollywood. And on top of everything, she is top tier songwriter and performer.
We almost in total agreement on performances tonight. I would flip Brooke and Carly, but that's it.

Admittedly, I'm not a huge country music fan, so I wasn't aware of what an amazing and prolific songwriter Dolly is! I had no idea that she writes all of her own songs, as well as songs for others! I have a whole new level of respect for her.

Nice, pleasant voice...licks his lips a whole lot...awkward movements on stage...I just feel like you get the same thing every week from him. Seriously, can you see today's teenagers actually spending their money on a David A album or putting him on their IPods? It would be the equivalent of a 41 year old guy like me buying Barry Manilow albums when I was in High School...NEVER HAPPEN. Maybe he would sell to the "High School Musical" "Hannah Montana" crowd, but that's about it.
The big "whoop" about David A. is that he has an abundance of the one quantity that you can't teach; talent. He's 17 years old and can be taught how to deliver his songs and how to move around on stage; he can change the genre of the songs he sings and have a stylist change his look. What you are seeing now is far from the finished product. On the other hand, no matter how hard you try or how much money you spend, you'll never teach someone to sing who has no talent.

I knew most of the Carly stuff, although I didn't know about the song that both she and Kelly recorded. And I didn't know any of that stuff about Kristy Lee Or Michael Johns. I was disappointed by the total lack of character displayed by Michael Johns trying to pass off a song to his new band as having been written by him when it was really written by one of his old band mates! Knowing that there are this many (ex) proffessionals competing pretty much ruins it for me. I don't know what Idols rules are but it looks like they're just trying, yet again, to drum up interest in some of their failed artists. All 3 of them had prior relationships with Idol personnel and clearly had to be know to the producers and judges. I'd much rather the show try and find some undiscovered talent than rehash a bunch of 3-time losers.

I would be stunned beyond words if Brooke goes home Thursday. She has more talent in her little toe nail than any other female left in the competition.
