I've been researching annuals.

1-2 appear to be all-reprints.

3 is right before Kirby's run begins in #193, and is done by Kirby. (and omitted from the recent Kirby Cap TPBs)

4 is right after Kirby's run ends in #214, and is done by Kirby.

Both of these would seem to be good contenders for vol.6 (the complete Kirby Cap), but that would make it a very thick volume. Kirby Cap comprises 22 issues (#193-214) plus these two annuals, and the Treasury Edition seen in the second Kirby TPB. With the inclusion of these two annuals, I'm starting to sway towards splitting "the complete Kirby Cap" into two volumes.

There are then several years without annuals (Cap didn't get very many annuals!), and then #5 takes place after the Stern/Byrne run. Its placement eludes me: the MCP places it between 264-265, and the GCD places it between 260-261. If any of you has the relevant issues, I'd really appreciate a definitive info on where annual 5 goes.

Annual 6 is by DeMatteis, in the DeMatteis era, so it's pretty unproblematic. The MCP places it between 274-275. Annual 7 is placed between 285-286. (Just before the Deathlok story.)

There is again a several-years lull, and when we come back, we're squarely in Gruenwald, with the famous Wolverine annual, number 8, being between 320-321. And then there's a 4-year lull again.

When we come back, we're in the 'crossover annuals' era of '90-'92, and personally I intend to collect the crossover annuals separately from their parent series, so I disregard annuals 9-11.

Annual 12 is between 419-420. Annual 13 is apparently a WWII flashback tale with no real placement in contemporary continuity, so I would place it in Gruenwald's last volume. It doesn't look like it'd resonate as well with Waid's run.

During Waid's run there were two simultaneous annuals: Cap/Iron Man '98 and Cap/Citizen V '98. I'm not a big fan of annual duplication, so if anybody has read these, I'd appreciate any comments on whether they are more Iron Man than Cap, or more Thunderbolts than Cap, respectively. Should I bind them with the Cap series, or the other series? Which of the slash parties do the two annuals bind better with?

Regarding limiteds and other specials, I discovered the following

* a "War on Drugs" 1990 one-shot that I suspect is much in the same vein as the Titans' issues.
* a 4-issue Nicieza LS "Adventures of Captain America" in 1991.
* Ghost Rider/Captain America: Fear one-shot (1992)
* Captain America: The Medusa Effect one-shot (1994)
* Captain America/Nick Fury: Blood Truce one-shot (1995)
* Captain America: The Legend one-shot (caps off the first Waid run as Heroes Reborn comes)

I have no idea if any of these are different than comic-sized and thus would be impossible to bind. (Well, I know The Legend isn't and is quite bindable, but that's the only one I know.)

This map thread has not yet touched anything post-Waid. This map thread has also not touched any crossovers other than GS mentioned above. I know that during late Gruenwald there is at least Taking A.I.M. but I have not incorporated it in the map yet. I would appreciate info on any other crossovers to take into account.
