As I did with other recent "Silver Age" releases, I'll be using this thread to post letter columns that comment on stories from Green Lantern volume 6. Hopefully, it will give readers of this collection some additional context with which to view these stories.
Somewhere out in the ether is a similar thread I did for GL volume 5 - if anyone knows a way of resurrecting it, please let me know.
We'll begin with the column for issue #42, which commented on the 2 stories that start out this archive volume. It's fitting that a letter from Mike Flesher kicks off this one, as he'll be a very familiar name before we're through. I can only wonder if this is actually the Mike Fleisher (with an extra 'i' added) that would emerge as a master scripter for DC in the 70s:

Not surprisingly, readers were blown away by "Secret Origin of the Guardians" in GL #40. Leonard Tirado astutely pointed out the biblical overtones contained in this story, and Julie was very frank in his response. It would not be the last time that author John Broome was so inspired, as we'll see later on in this archive:
