Okay people, the first Warlock Masterworks is in my hands.
(Cue Heavenly Choir)
Where to begin.. Roy Thomas provides a four page introduction on the history of Him/Adam Warlock and includes quite a bit of history that Im sure a lot of people werent aware of.
The art? Well its magnificent!
The reproduction is crisp and clear through out... Id didnt see an uneven page in the whole volume. Gil Kane has never looked so good. Jack Abels inks on the Herb Trimpe issues of the Hulk are flawless. Im sure Abels work proves as tricky to reproduce as Vince Collettas line work.
Not enough can be said about sewn bindings! While a bit stiffer than the DC Archives, the book can be opened fully without fear of breaking the spine so gutter loss is a thing of the past.
Extras? Not too much besides a couple pages of Gil Kanes pencil breakdowns.
The variant cover comes in at a respectable 1475 copies.
I sure hope Marvel fast tracks volume 2
STARLIN!
Oop! I forgot the most important part!
JRT's three pages of bios!
