I will never understand why the amazon.ca site is updated before the amazon.com, but here we go (don't know if they're all legit, of course) :

Personnally, I'm not that interested in the pre-marvel age eras, but it's an omnibus, so...

Yes, the Amazing Fantasy Omnibus is totally legit. I was working on an announcement for it, actually, but doggone if Amazon Canada didn't get the honor!

While I will be purchasing the AAF Omnibus, I DO care that it is eventually produced as a Masterworks volume or volumes. The run of Amazing Adult Fantasy by Steve Ditko is an essential part of the Masterworks Library, in my opinion, and I will still be voting for it in the survey. Frankly, I'm a little nervous about Omnibus reaching into this era and getting first dibs on Masterworks material, and I don't expect I'm alone. But I do anticipate that, no matter what, the vast majority of fans of this material will be very interested in the Omnibus when it comes out.
Like me.

Well,
what bothers me about marvel collected editions is the "inconsistency" of the formats : Masterworks/omnibus, MPE/trades for some series, OHC/trades for others, and even digets/OHC for the runaways ! Being french, i would love to get everything in hardcovers, even standard-sized... We always have to worry when they start a run reprinted in OHC, for example, about WHEN (and not even IF) it will be dropped to paperback...

This will be a great collection, especially if it includes all the material, including the contents page and the coming attractions and letters pages. I have all the original issues but will be tempted to pick this one up myself.

I just realized that this will also reprint Amazing Adventures as well! Some very nice work included, some wonderful Kirby and Heck art, among others, and the Dr. Droom stories, standard stuff, but the first, somewhat clumsy attempt at a continuing character.

The meat of the book will be the Stan Lee/ Steve Ditko stories. They attempted to do something different with this book, adding a contents page and letters section. Lee also promoted the authors, noting that all stories were by Lee and Ditko. "The Magazine that Respects Your Intelligence" was one of the opening salvos in the soon to be personality laden Marvel Comics Group.

Wow, this is unexpected! I hope it's not too pricey. I guess this means the non-comics pages (contents, fan letters and editorial pages) will be included, which is a plus.

Why does Amazon have it listed as "Volume 1" though? Is that an error?

Clearly it's an attempt by the Collected Editions department to generate new antagonism towards themselves.

Might I suggest as extras for the Omnibus----the Kirby Dr. Druid/Droom covers for the latter issues of Weird Wonder Tales and any covers based on the stories from Crypt of Shadows, Vault of Evil, etc. (assuming there are any).

And, maybe a list of how many times the Spidey story from Amazing Fantasy #15 has been published. They may need a second volume for that!

Good idea, and I think Cory is working on that. Does somebody have a complete list so nothing is missed?

Did anyone suggest this as an option? I don't remember seeing it, and it seems perfectly logical now.

I guess the Omnibus line is being used for "classic" runs of comics (Lee/Kirby FF, Miller DD, etc.) and for well-regarded seriers that may pose a problem if they were to be reprinted in another format (Eternals, AAF).

I'd say the chances of a Not Brand Echh Omnibus just went way up.

The inclusion of Devil Dinosaur in the Omnibus line negates that guess, nerdy.
