I'm gonna break a couple forum rules and direct you all to check out art and color restoration guru Michael Kelleher's Kickstarter for the Little Nemo Master Series prints.
You know how great Mike's work is from the many Marvel Masterworks, Omnibus and other collected editions he's graced with his talent. His Little Nemo Master Series prints are beautiful and I can assure you that they're lavished with all the attention to detail that he's brought to Marvel's artistic greats.
Mike's done extensive research into Benjamin Day's original color printing processes, as well as the inks, color saturation and other technical processes involved in the original newspaper printings to make these the most-dedicated, most-accurate representations of Winsor McCay's work in over a century. He's travelled cross-country to locate and scan Little Nemo original artwork and invested in the best printing and paper stocks for each print.
I had the pleasure of seeing the original for the February 2, 1908 Little Nemo page at the Brooklyn Museum's Coney Island exhibit last year. Mike's Master Series print is like having the original on your wall.
So pony up and push his Kickstarter over the finish line! The campaign ends on April 3rd.
