I think the Rolling Stones were at their very best in late 1966.

Can you imagine how much better the Justice League of America title would have been had Gene Colan rather than Mike Sekowsky been handling the artwork? It's ultimately Editor-in-Chief Irwin Donenfeld who must take the blame for allowing the strict editorial fiefdoms at DC to continue.
And of course that arsonist Jack Schiff should have been shown the door in the mid-fifties and Jack Kanigher should have been strictly confined to the War titles but those are other issues....
