Really, you guys liked this?
Rip Hunter just got a professor in 1975 killed. That's it. Nothing else happened. I just don't understand, if they want to do a time travel show, do Rip hunter, or Time Masters. Why didn't they just adapt the Forgotten Heroes, that would be a better cast, without much continuity. Arrow was great, iFlash is a mess, but seems to be popular, but this isn't creative at all, entertaining to people who aren't familiar with the characters, but easily forgettable. I think the producers are spreading themselves too thin.
Arrow was good because they fleshed out things and characters that didn't exist in the comics (like his parents, and being trapped on the island. They also built on stuff from the comics.

The wheels had already been put in motion, but with this show DC-CW TV is fully embracing the bizarre wackiness that is at the heart of some of the best DC comics. DC Film seems to be going it the complete opposite direction.
Yeah, some of the special effects were a bit dodgy and the premise of these characters being brought together is questionable. But so what, we get to watch some great B-List comic characters come to life on screen by good actors and a creative team that really gets it.
My 10 year old daughter loved it and my 13 year old son loved it. Just FUN.
BTW - No, I don't see much of the modern Doctor in the portrayal of Rip. He's still Rory. And that's not a bad thing.
