Agree that DHOKF is definitely harder to track down than MOKF. I don't go into LCS's any more, but when I did back in the day & would casually browse through the back issues, MOKF comics seemed to be fairly prevalent. However, I don't think I ever saw DHOKF back-issues anywhere.
In general, I believe the b&w Marvel magazines from the '70's/'80's were probably tougher to track down even @ newsstands when they were released than the regular color comic books were. IIRC, these mags. included Savage Sword of Conan, Rampaging Hulk, Tomb of Dracula, Planet of the Apes, Deadly Hands of Kung Fu, and a number of horror titles....

I think that the paper quality for the b&w mags was even worse than the regular comics, and it aged to tan (or worse) much faster. True NM copies should have a fairly off-white color, not tan or darker, and there are probably very few copies in existence that meet that criterion. I didn't fully appreciate that until I lucked into a couple of issues that really were true NM and was amazed at what the paper was really supposed to look like.

Well, the Sons of the Tiger ended on a cliffhanger. If memory serves me, that was resolved in an issue of Power Man/Iron Fist. Would that be there? Or the Sons of the Tiger story from Marvel Team-Up?

Yeah, everyone is right regarding the b&w magazine paper at least appearing to deteriorate more rapidly than the paper used in the color comics. Even if the same paper was used in both cases, the deterioration/yellowing is more evident in the b&w mags. due to the lack of color.
