If these changes represent considerable cost cutting for Marvel then the good news may be the price, $100 instead of $125 for larger books in the future. I don’t know if it is definite but I think the ASM V1 BTP is priced $100 because of it.

That paper was textured with a really nice, cream-colored tone, about the best possible paper to use for these books. The new paper in the IM omni is ultra-thin, white-white, and smooth/non-textured. Not awful by any means, but it's not anything special. And it's so thin you feel like you're going to rip the pages when you turn them...but so far no rips on mine. It -is- an improvement over the glossier paper that was used in the past. The matte appearance helps to tone down the colors a bit.
