I'm gonna have to put some collected editions into storage for a few months at minimum, perhaps longer, and I want to do so in a way that I get the books out of storage in the same condition I put them in. I also don't want to spend a zillion dollars on it, natch.
Right now I'm considering plastic storage bins so they can resist any moisture, dust, and/or bugs during their time in purgatory. For the hardcovers, I'd layer the bottom with bubble wrap and stack them with spines on the bottom bearing the weight. I went to Wal-Mart to look for bins that would accommodate this kind of project and despite their wide selection they didn't have anything that was perfectly aligned with my plan.
Anyone have any recommendations, success stories, or tales of what not to do in this situation?
