The Sandman has become a more "generic superhero" but his plots and art have become much more creative.

Gee, I hope it's not The Brain. . . or Monsieur Mallah. . . or Garguax. That would be too icky for the Silver Age.

Just imagine that creepy mystery investigated by the classic suit-and-fedora Sandman! What atmosphere!
Let the purple-and-yellow guy tackle bank robbers.

I just finished volumes 1 and 2 of the Silver Age Teen Titans Archives, and I am half way through volume 1 of the Legion Archives.
Strangely, the Omnibus edition of the Silver Age Teen Titans and the forthcoming Omnibus of the Silver Age Legion have energized my reading of the Archives. I guess I view an omnibus as a perfect format for collecting but prefer the Archive (and Masterworks) size/format for actually reading the stories. Costly to do it both ways though.

That blue and purple colour combination was of course very cool as well. The colours of his costume actually underwent quite a bit of modification in his first four appearances in Space Adventures:
So somehow the art department at Charlton jumped the gun on the cover illustration of Space Adventures 33 and gave Captain Atom's costume colours that he wasn't wearing yet!
