Then there was the ridiculousness of Rene's comment about if he had a gun his wife would still be alive. He did have a gun and firing that gun is what ultimately caused his wife's death.

"Tonight's Episode of Arrow is rated TV-14LV. It included mature themes, language and violence..."
It raised another question for me, what the heck happened to The Vigilante storyline?
Did that just drop off or was there some resolution? I expected him to be a main focus tonight.

VisualFiction wrote:Thanks, I missed that she was still using that same data collection in this ep. My understanding is that it's "bad" because it's stolen proprietary data. Analogous to the physical vigilantism, I'm assuming the data is evidence of illegal or unethical doings by certain corporations.

Or if it's possible they're toying with our comic book knowledge and possibly mix and match Vigilante, Prometheus, Chase, Kovar and/or anyone else they decide to pull out at the last minute.

VisualFiction wrote:If I'm reading your main point correctly, you dislike the supposedly illogical writing of Renee's characterization stemming from that scene ("if I'd had a gun my wife would be alive"). His statement is in keeping with his correct belief that his wife would've been in more danger if Renee had been deprived of owning a gun. And to the extent that he's referencing actually having the gun on him at the start of the encounter, I'd say he's also correct that things would probably have played out differently. But having already deleted the ep, I'll have to defer to you and to others who still have it to look at or else remember it better than I do. If as you say they would up in exactly the same standoff position as if he'd entered with gun in hand, then you may be right that the scripting/staging wasn't thought through enough.
