More likely it will be that thin ghetto glossy stuff that the Lois Lane archive sported. In which case, I'll just wait for a 50% off sale in a few years.

Golden Age Doctor Fate Archives Vol. 1, Action Heroes Archives Vol. 2, and DC Comics Rarities Archives Vol. 1 all had around 350 pages at the $75.00 price point. So this is not a price raise at all.The only surprise I guess is why they chose the larger page count for a volume that I'm assuming will be a part of a longer run. Could the reason just be that they knew that they needed to start at #98 if they were going to do a Silver Age volume, and that they felt the stories didn't really get good until 108 or 109 or 110? So felt they should put those in there to make it more attractive? I am not familiar with these stories at all. Or is it trying to rush through some lackluster material to get to some classic stories that will be in volume 2?So seems to me like this might be another one shot deal, and we will be back to the normal page counts with the next volume announcement. I guess only time will tell.

So if they wanted to have volumes end at those points, the most likely scenario would be 2 more or less regular sized volumes apiece in addition to the ones forthcoming.

best of all though would be if DC did an Archive for Radio Comics Heroes, those being the Shield(Private Strong), Fly and Jaguar, just as was already done for the Mighty Heroes.

Archie has launched a NEW CRUSADERS series digitally last month (print issues begin in August). They also have about 40-some back issues (40s, 60s, 80s) available online as well and growing each week. Beyond that, Simon regained the copyright to The Fly and Lancelot Strong, so it's uncertain how much of those characters can be used or reprinted. Issues of "Mighty Crusaders" in which they appear have been posted, but none of "The Fly" or "Lancelot Strong" series themselves have been posted yet. In New Crusaders (as well as the recent DC license) they specifically used Fly-girl, rather than The Fly--since she was created after Simon and Archie owns her.

Works out nicely as two standard-sized archives:Green Lantern Volume 8 (Green Lantern 48-57; January 1968 to January 1969; 216 pages)Green Lantern Volume 9 (Green Lantern 67-75; March 1969 to March 1970; 217 pages)Flash 151-174 is 544 pages. It could be done as two super-sized archives or three standard-sized books with additional issues added to the third volume. Here's what those three volumes would look like:Flash Volume 7 (Flash 151-160; March 1965 to April 1966; 226 pages)Flash Volume 8 (Flash 161-170; May 1966 to May 1967; 223 pages)Flash Volume 9 (Flash 171-180; June 1967 to August 1969; 240 pages)
