My name is Oedi and I soar amidst the stars far from the planet of my birth. I guess this starship is the closest thing I've got to a home now, for I am a refugee and an outlaw. Vanth Dreadstar, Syzygy Darklock, Willow 327, Rainbow and Skeevo are my family. We are revolutionaries. Our goal? To bring an end to the 200 year old war between the Instrumentality and the Monarchy!

I know there are others out there like Punisher etc, but they are not of interest to me.Add to that those already in the pipeline for this year i.e. Avengers, Ghost Rider 2, Superman, Batman & Spiderman and it takes the total to over 40.I also foresee with the success of the Avengers movie an increase in the frequency of future superhero releases. Marvel seem set to release two movies a year and it's not to far a stretch to expect another four from other companies. Who would bet against the likelihood of the following movies outside of Disney/Marvel coming over the next two year:X-Men : First Class IIAmazing Spider-Man IISuperman II ?JLAFantastic FourDaredevilWolverine IISin City IIAt six movies a year and a backlist of 40 plus titles there is almost enough there to satisfy anyones need for a superhero fix. The movies are also their own stand alone Universe i.e. neither 616 or Ultimate and in the case of Marvel the origins etc are there in the backlist of movies.I'm not really serious about abandoning comics quite yet, but it just struck me that if I wanted to it would be possible. What do you think?

Nightmare knew no earthly liquid could quench the heat of such a forging...So he found the dreams of one who spent the day crouching at the bottom of a comment thread, muttering a guttural belch of "meh". With this wettest of blankets, Nightmare found a strong enough quenchant to tame the heat.

Super Brat wrote:Most super hero movies stink. A lot of the new cartoons are ok but pale in comparison to the comic storyline they're based on (New Frontier, All Star Superman, etc). The only example I can think of where the movie was really better than the comic was Road to Perdition and maybe X-Men: First Class. ...And Brave and the Bold, the animated series was overall better than any run of the title it's taken it's namesake from.
