To settle an argument, I need to see what's written in the indicia of Teen Titans #44 from 1976, specifically the volume number. Unfortunately, I don't own a copy of that issue. Basically, what I need to know (and it would help to have visual proof via a scan I can point to) is whether the indicia reads "Vol. 2 No. 44" or if it reads "Vol. 11 No.44". I know it doesn't really matter in the cosmic scheme of things, but I really have to know the correct answer. So, any help anyone can give would be gratefully appreciated.

Posts: 146 Sep 18 11 8:50 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Here you go. As you can see, it's Vol. 11 No. 44, despite sometimes being known in fan circles as vol 2. It's for reasons like this that the GCD (www.comics.org) uses series start year instead: "Teen Titans (DC, 1976 series)".

When Green Lantern/Green Arrow was revived with #90, it was as Vol. 15 No. 90, the volume number it would've had if publication had continued during the years the title was dormant. As pdilley put it, each year at DC, the volume number would increase by one. By comparison, Teen Titans #48 and 49, which I own, are Volume 12.

A comparison of the indicias from the last "original" Action Comics (#904, October 2011) and the first "new" issue (#1, November 2011) shows that the "new" series has no indication about it being a new series, a "volume 2," or anything. It just says "ACTION COMICS 1" as if the past 73 years didn't happen.
