Now I have a much better understanding and appreciation of the series due in part to the experience provided by the Golden Age Masterworks program. It's also clear how perfectly appropriate Frank Robbins was too.

Matthew, I would normally agree with you but the 1st volume tpb was printed 4 years ago and volume 200, if my maths is correct, is about 2 years away. So I would hope that 7 years isn't too recent.

It has to happen eventually, but reading the tea leaves it seems that the Masterworks program will first go after the material that hasn't been collected in colour yet, like Ghost Rider and Marvel Two-In-One.

Both Hardback, both colour, both the same material and only a three year gap between the two. It's been 4 years (so far) since The Invaders tpb so you never know.

And we know from Cory that the Black Widow MPC scotched his plans for a Black Widow / Doctor Doom / The Watcher Masterwork volume.

I don't wish to belabour the point, and I'd be very excited to see an Invaders Masterworks line. But seeing as that title has been collected already in a series of trades, mindful of the number of quality titles that remain uncollected in any colour format whatsoever, and considering the small number of open slots between now and Volume 200 (presuming the annual and biannual releases will continue apace), I wouldn't feel secure in betting the mortgage money on that one for Volume 200.

But I'm going to cling to hope and remain in my delusional, probably in need of medication, world and predict that between now and vol 200 we will see Invaders vol 1. If I win.....yippee, If I lose, I'll blame the drugs (or lack of them)
