As a small sidebar, my dad was also a huge fan of the Flash Gordon & Buck Rogers serials, so when he heard they'd made a Big Time honest-to-goodness motion picture about Flash Gordon he took me to the theater without even asking me (or my mom), or telling anyone where we were going!And that's how we both ended up on the premiere of Dino De Laurentiis' FLASH GORDON, lol.(I actually enjoyed the heck out of it, I was only 10 after all, but even I could detect my dad was not entirely satisfied by the camp approach to the material)
