I have a couple of questions for mwiggins or some other Legion devotee, and forgive me if the questions have come up before and been answered already. They are: How many more Archive Editions will be necessary to fill the gap between the forthcoming 13th volume and The Great Darkness Saga? And: How many more deluxe Legion collections will be necessary to fill the gap between The Curse and the first post-Crisis reboot? I am trying to keep life as simple as possibe.

If you just limited the HC's to the Volume 4 Legion title, you'd probably be looking at another 3 or 4 Deluxe HC's to cover from the end of Levitz's 2nd run in '89 to the Zero Hour reboot in '94.

Ken Arromdee wrote:For the question of where it continues from: Generally, Geoff Johns wanted to continue from Crisis and Paul Levitz continued from the end of the 1980's Levitz run. There are one or two unexplained items because of this (for instance, Quislet left between Crisis and the end of Paul's 1980's run, so when Paul decided to go from the end of his earlier run Quislet's return became unexplained. It is usually assumed that everything from Paul's earlier run happened except the death of Superboy and Conspiracy (so Mon-El is still alive, for instance), though Paul has made at least one contradictory statement. And a plug for my (well, 95% mine) continuity list for the Legion on Legion World: http://www.legionworld.ne...=get_topic;f=11;t=000644

Ken Arromdee wrote:However, DC rebooted their universe yet *again*, just this month. The reboot, this time, has affected pretty much everything *except* the Legion; the Legion got a seventh #1 issue (and a spinoff, Legion Lost) but is still continuing. But since Superman and Supergirl are affected by the reboot, once again, nobody knows what their connection is to the Legion any more--even though their connections have only really been back for a few years. From the vague mentions so far it does seem that at least Superman is still connected to the Legion, but not much has been published yet.

Part of the reason I followed the Legion in the first place was that it involved a reasonably consistent milieu and was mostly spared the effects of Crisis and other large scale DC universe events. With the sole exception of 5 years later, I have absolutely hated all of the various reboots. I still think that Crisis was a colossal mistake that made everything a million times more confusing than before. Sometimes I wonder if I should just drop DC entirely.
