Avengers and Iron Man crossed over in the mid 90s, when it turns out Iron Man had been a traitor controlled by Kang, Iron Man killed some Avengers, and died and was replaced by a teenaged version of himself.Definitely better in the 80s and from '98 onward.Actually Iron Man fans reckon the early 90s was a fairly good time for Shellhead. The whole Crossing/Teen Tony mess was a major low point, but that was only one year. Before that was a very good Len Kaminski run which began with the War Machine story in 280ish and ran until 318. He took the trouble to explore new Armour paradigms like the Modular Armour and also delved more deeply into the issues involved in running a massive company. It's well worth a look. You can probably find most of the issues in quarter-bins.

There was some decent stuff in the early-mid 90's, but there was also an overwhelming amount of dreck. Trying to complete a collection of this era can be downright depressing sometimes!

Our local grocery store has a magazine and book section with an actual wire spinner rack and a small selection of the latest comics. The spinner top says "Comics Read One Today!" with head-shots of Richie Rich, Spider-Man, Archie and Superman. I have thought about offering to buy it from the owner, but I just enjoy seeing it in it's natural environment too much. Like an endangered species in the wild!

Can't think of much else. Most other books suggested here (esp. mainstream Marvel books) belong on my "why 1990s sucked" list. Sorry.
