Yep. For example I have Excalibur: The Sword is Drawn and Mojo Mayhem bookending a volume with #1-11 in the middle.

You have to take certain things into account, though.

If your volume is smyth-sewn, then obviously gluebound entities cannot be smyth-sewn. You cannot switch sewing methods mid-book. Thus, gluebound books would only be attached to the casing and the rest of the issues by glue alone. There is no string holding the interior pages of the gluebound entity in place. So, if the original glue of the entity fails, you'll start to see pages falling out. This is a concern I have with my Excal 1 volume. The Sword is Drawn and Mojo Mayhem specials are so old that I'm concerned their pages will start to fall out even though the covers are sturdily fixed to the spine with new glue.

I'm less concerned with my Excal 6 volume containing Annuals 1-2 (also gluebound) because the covers for those are flexible paper, instead of the stiff cardboard of SiD and MM. Flexible paper covers exert less stress on the original glue, and I expect the Annuals 1-2 to stay intact as long as I live, basically, so gluing Annuals 1-2 to an otherwise smyth-sewn volume worked out well there for me.

In the future, I think if I'm going to include cardboard-covered gluebounds, I will go with the oversewing route because I don't trust the original glue to survive, so there needs to be some string in place to hold the pages.
