It seems to my recollection that the first and possibly second of the Steve Englehart stories from the first two issues were actually in-continuity. The first was, I am pretty sure, drawn by Starlin, as in the regular comic. The second might have been drawn by Alan Weiss. It was, again as I recall, the difficulty in maintaining the continuity between two books that caused Steve'n Jim to drop the title and their plans for it.

To my own tastes, Doug Moench's stories in the magazine were mostly the sort of thing he sometimes just tossed off and didn't care about. Capsule Review: They Sucked. All of his considerable effort and talent went into making the color comic the classic that it was.

Overall, I would say that the best series in the magazine's run was the Sons of the Tiger strip after Bill Mantlo took it over.
