I hope this part of the thread gives Cory and others at Marvel a look into our heads, and what influences which covers we buy and what options we like to see.

I thought that I generally preferred the covers that were originally part of the run being collected - the ones that are considered the variants. However, looking back at what I've actually purchased, it seems I have bought the covers by "newer artists" for omnis from the very beginning of the Marvel age. Covers that might be considered a bit "primitive" compared to how the artist's style developed once Marvel really got rolling. FF and Thor omnis vol. 1 are both good examples. I've also bought the "newer artist" versions for some Bronze Age or later omnis where I just don't care much for the original artist's cover, it wasn't really iconic in my eyes, and I think the new interpretation was a big improvement. So I have about 50-50 variant and regular editions, in the end.

I've certainly never bought an omni just because of a cover, but I think I may have not bought one or two because I couldn't get the cover I strongly preferred. For sure, that would only have involved waiting for a second printing or a good price on the secondary market - which sometimes works out and sometimes doesn't.

For MOKF, I have pre-ordered the Starlin cover. Not because I don't like Dodson's cover, but because Starlin's is so iconic. I think the only option that would have pulled me away from it would have been a new super-detailed cover by Gulacy or Starlin. With any luck, those will be options on later MOKF or DHoKF omnis.

Finally, Shocker: I have to add that if you literally COULD care less, you probably WOULD care less. You meant that you could NOT care less.
