IMHO, anyone who has not read any of these comics yet is in for a Bronze Age treat.  MOKF is easily in my top-five comic series of all time (maybe even in the top three ... perhaps even the best)!

I don't necessarily agree with deejayway's critique of some of the issues in the series, but some of the fill-in issues were 'bad' compared to the rest of the series.

It has been awhile since I read the series all the way through, and I'm sure that when I read the series again, some of Meonch-isms may grind on me a bit.  Wink   But, it was the 70s!

Still, there are some great stretches of Paul Gulacy, Mike Zeck, and Gene day art in the series.  I always thought the Johnny Craig issues looked pretty good, too.

My first comic books: Superboy and the Legion of Super Heroes #202 and Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth #23.  What a great way to start!
