I don't own an iPad or smart phone
I own a smart phone. It's great for surfing the net, listening to mp3s, and is a great GPS. A really slick tool.

I don't have GPS
See smartphone answer. Again this is a great tool. Someone up thread said they use maps. That's what this is, a digital map that updates on the fly. A great tool. It would be like saying "Internet pffft, I got a book shelf of encyclopedias, I don't need to go online for info."

I don't have a wireless router...my 10 yr + old IBM laptop is still connected to the modem by cable
Have a wireless router for my wife's laptop. Why would you want to be plugged in? Seems like an unnecessary hindrance.

I still use Explorer
I use Chrome.

I have never used an App
Internet Explorer is an App

I just have basic cable (except when Game of Thrones is on)
We have cable, but it's really my wife's thing.

I still buy weekly floppy comics
I mostly buy collections.

I don't have a Netflix account...I go to theatres
I don't have Netflix either.

I still write paper checks
Bank electronically. Best thing the internet did was revolutionize banking. Makes banking and paying bills a lot easier. Accounts update in real time. I feel like the people I talk to that don't bank online is because of their irrational fear of their info being leaked. I guess they think their paper checks are being hard filed in a real cabinet somewhere? Checks are scanned electronically. Your bank has all your info, and they keep it on electronic servers, aka the net. Writing checks and handing it to someone gives your data more of a chance at being compromised by the cashier or whoever you hand it to. They now have all your info. Swiping a debit card yourself keeps everything firmly in your hands.

I still wear glasses even tho my optometrist's says I'm a perfect case for RK surgery
I don't understand this. Do you drive a car? Why wouldn't you want to be in perfect shape/health?

I still strike pieces of flint together to cook my dinner and sleep in bearskins[/quote]

No one wins any awards for denying themselves useful tools. I can see some of this stuff is personal preference regarding entertainment choices (movies, videogames) and that's fine, but some of it is really useful stuff, like GPS technology and lasik eye surgery? I know that if I couldn't see and a doctor said they can fix that I would. I don't understand how bragging about it on an internet forum is well, something worth bragging about. I think technology is great as long as it serves a useful purpose, the key IMO is not fetishizing it.
