>>I doubt very much that the upper management at Marvel (Perlmutter, specifically) would view the GA and AA Masterworks as being worthwhile unless they could turn a profit on their own. For quite some time now, projects at Marvel generally have had to stand on their own and not rely on subsidies from other projects. If each GA and AA MMW book nets -$X, and each MA MMW nets +$Y, Marvel will stick to only making projects that earn +$Y. To mix in a few -$X projects lowers the total profit of the enterprise, and the total profit is certainly the name of the game for Perlmutter.<<

True, they ain't running a charity. Considering they all used the same numbering system, I figured it was all one program. Apparently it is, but it isn't. It's a perfectly reasonable business decision, as disappointed as I am about it.

At some point they will have to test the waters and see if it's OK to try a volume again. With Roy's comments in the FF Masterworks and now pictures of actual issues, I'm guessing that volume will be Venus V2. At that point it will be all hands on deck. That will be the chance to restart the line.
