I started collecting the Uncanny X-Men MMW line after growing tired of waiting for the second omnibus. Subsequently, I fell prey to the collecting bug and came down with a case of "selective completionism" and "double dippism" fueled by eBay and Masterwork blowouts. I own most silver and bronze age titles with the exception of Iron Man, and the war and western genres.

I've bought a few Atlas titles like Menace, Black Knight/Yellow Claw, Venus and a few others that I've found cheap. With the exception of Venus, I've found these lines to be either impenetratably boring or too insipid to read more than a few pages a day. I had high hopes for Black Knight/Yellow Claw, but only enjoyed the art and not the writing. Atlas just doesn't compare to EC in terms of art or story quality.

I'd be willing to keep on buying Spider-Man through the end of the Stern run and FF through the end of the Byrne run. I'd be willing to buy Uncanny X-Men through the end of Mutant Massacre, but I would probably have to live another 40 years to see that happen at this rate.

Other lines I'm not so sure of...the last Defenders left me cold. Once Gene leaves DD, I think I'd be good until they masterworked the Miller run and got the colors corrected from that hatchet job in the complete collection/omnibus. I'd be tempted to stick with Thor through the Wein/Buscema issues and return again when the color is corrected on the second Simonson run. I don't know when I'd quit the Avengers--these Englehart issues are trying to kill my enjoyment of this series, but I know it's got to get better.
