I've been buying these since the beginning. It never even occurred to me then that it would be even desirable to get this far. Because yes, for a very long time now, I have been buying collected editions of comics that I already own in very nice condition in plastic bags. But sure, I prefer to read them in collected editions. The print quality is much nicer and look Ma, no ads!. Not to mention, not having to take them in and out of annoying plastic bags. Seriously, it's way passed time I should sell those old comics.

Spidey crossed over into the I-don't-really-care zone with volume 14. I never cared for Len Wein's or Marv Wolfman's runs on the title, and now with the Stern Omnibus, I will never buy a Spider-Man Omni again! I say this with verve and commitment, but I also swore I would never buy the early Marvel Team-Up MW because, I mean, have you ever read those comics? And yet there is Volume 2 on my shelf, trying to hide.

I thought I was done with Fantastic Four after the prior book and the Crusader TPB, but ok, I went ahead and ordered the upcoming one. I am undoubtedly loicked in for two more voumes...sigh.

I bought Deathlok, and didn't like it just the way I remembered, and so I sold it. Will Power!! I bought Inhumans, didn't expect to like it, and there it still sits on the shelf, oh so smug, laffing at me.

Defenders is good to go for two more volumes and then, seriously, no. Looks like just two more for Hulkie too after yesterday's announcement. Cap has probably got three more. The Avengers, it should only be a couple but...who knows because I'm pretty stupid with that title. I promised myself I was done with Conway's Daredevil, and last month I went ahead and ordered the upcoming volume (friggin' Black Widow stories...!). If they keep putting out more Dr. Strange volumes up through to the end of Sterno's run...I am there. And I can't believe how much I want a new Sgt. Fury and Those Guys collection! I will buy Subby all the way until the end of his run, and Thor...lemme see, yes, Goldilocks is solid for two more tomes.

Ka-Zar? Yes, one more. Captain Marvel...I said no to the new book because those are really bad comics. Will I continue to say no? Who knows? Ms. Marvel? Seriously?? Ms. Marvel??? Black Panther totally depends on what they have in mind but certainly, one more is inevitable. Uncanny X-Men is prolly secure for 2-3 books. I'm one of those guys that thinks the really crummy Iron Man comics were in the last two MW's and the upcoming stuff by Friedrich, Mantlo and Tuska make me good to go for as many as it takes to get up to 115. And yeah, one more round for the Ant Man (Yay, Ant-Man!).

Since I really don't care for Marvel's Golden Age very much, it is embarrassing how many books I have. One more Cap and Mystic Vol. 2, please. I am neither a big fan of Marvel's Atlas period as the format of the shorty-short stories doesn't appeal to me much. My opinion of a good comic-book horror or sci-fi or War story was set in stone by EC years and years ago, and Stan's stuff doesn't really cut it (I was mostly bored with the Amazing Adult Fantasy collection). Still, I've got the Heroes Trilogy, Menace, Black/Knight/Yellow Claw, and Vol. 2-3 each of Suspense and Astonish. I'll totally get 2-3 volumes of Strange Tales and Journey into Mystery when they reach the Kirby/Ditko runs because I am a sucker for giant monsters. Are they incredibly samey? Apparently I don't understand the point of this question. But that's pretty much the extent of my interest in that line. Ok, yes, could be some more Western material that I would like...some of it seems interesting.

So yes, in two to three years, I expect to be totally off the habit here. Except that I'm also looking forward to titles like Luke Cage, Killraven, and some of the horror stuff. Please, just get me through the 70's and I swear I'll stop.
