Time for the once-every-three-years update! The last time I posted, back in 2011, Shout was about to release Volume XX; next month, believe it or don't, they're releasing Volume XXX, featuring three good episodes and one absolute classic, "Outlaw (of Gor)." Shout has been doing an absolutely fantastic job with these sets, which are loaded down with extras. They're getting more and more of the episodes that were long thought to be impossible due to rights issues. There was one set that included all the season three Gamera movies, and volume XXiX included the stunningly inept but hilarious "Puma Man."

Rifftrax continues to chug along, putting out dozens of titles a year (probably too many, in my estimation). Sadly, Cinematic Titanic is no more, although I did get a chance to see them on their farewell tour.

Most interestingly, there's this recent oral history of the show:

...in which Joel mentions that he is currently working on a possible new version of the show, possibly through an online forum. No clear word as yet as to which of the original actors and writers might return, or if the show would be, as Joel hints, recast, but it's entirely possible that in six months you could be streaming MST3K Season 11 on Netflix or something.

Now available at Amazon for the Kindle: my crime novel FIVE MILLION DOLLARS AND THE GREEN-EYED GIRL.  Enjoy, won't you?
