I've never liked John Romita even a little bit. His work seemed stunningly unoriginal and bland and still looks that way to me.

I liked Romita Sr. well enough, particularly when he inked himself or when he had a decent inker like Jim Mooney. I recently got back into his Spiderman work and I was pleasantly surprised by how good a lot of it is, particularly some of his iconic covers.

However, even at his best, Romita was never in Buscema or Colan's league.
