This "article"? isn't going to help DC. Is Mystery in Space 75 really that essential? Was it more than a guest star appearance? DC didn't have crossovers back then
The point is that it was SOLICITED. DC makes it a point to include issues in the solicit and then LEAVE THEM OUT OF THE BOOK. It is Clowntown, plain and simple, and they should be embarrassed. Name the last book that Marvel RELEASED that did not match the solicits. Now name how many books Marvel has released that have included tons of extras. DC have continually released incomplete books, books missing pages, etc, for YEARS.
Agreed.  However, the biggest issue for me re: DC's collections are the intentionally missing covers.  Not only do many of their collections not include any covers whatsoever, but in many cases they skip covers because the artist featured in the collection didn't draw a certain cover; the best example of this is last year's Superman by Gil Kane HC collection - I was truly looking forward to this & when I finally got it, I found that there were a couple of covers missing because Kane didn't draw them - though, the respective comics themselves were included.  The whole point I buy  collections like this is so that I won't have to get the individual floppies, so skipping covers almost defeats the purpose of having these collections.  I mean, WTF?  It's a shame, since the Gil Kane Superman collection was great otherwise, i.e. very good reproduction, paper, colors, etc.

I don't understand why DC is continually making mistakes like this (whether or not they're intentional).  You would think they could learn something from Marvel's great example when it came to collected editions - or, if they had any questions on what should/shouldn't be included in a collected edition, just visit boards like this - where the consumers/collectors like us offer free feedback...
