Best artist? Artist? Not storytelling or craftmanship or professionality or reliability or creativity or originality or trend-making or style-unique or plotting or inking or any thing else? Only artistry? Then it has to be John Buscema and John Romita Sr. They are up to people like Harold Foster or Alex Raymond. Huge natural talent.

To me the most over-rated was Gene Colan. He had a knack to render some faces properly, but all the rest was hard to dig for me, anatomy, storytelling, backgrounds, details, even his famous shadows, that I can´t see anywhere, don´t mean a lot to me. Many of Colan´s works are fabulous, because another great and talented artist saved it: Tom Palmer.
