Oh no a heart attack! And I thought going blind sucked. I got a cataract on my left eye and if I can stop getting kick out of Optometrists offices ( the one I went to yesterday wouldn't take my insurance) I should be able to take care of it soon.

Again wish ya all the best Todd and a speedy recovery!
Good luck Todd! I get nervous whenever I get a slight numbness in my left arm (usually because I've been holding something too long) and then slight panic ensues and I wonder if I should call an ambulance. Hope your bypass takes a lot of the edge off!

Bubba, I had a full blown cataract in my left eye that I basically ignored due to lack of insurance, for a few years, that eventually drove me a tad out of my gourd. I went to a clinic where an eye doctor told me that since I was blind anyways, I should roll the dice and try the Lion's Eye Clinic. After a few months I got a call from them and within 3 weeks my eye was taken care of for nothing! My surgeon told me I had the worst cataract he'd ever seen and while normal surgery takes 20 minutes to a half hour, mine took 2.5 hours because my rock had to be broken up with major jolts of ultrasound  and sucked out crumb by crumb. He thought I might require 2 surgeries. However I came out of it with 20/20 vision in that eye while for 48 years I had the most extreme myopia in that eye and had always worn glasses. My right eye is starting to develop a cataract and I hope I can have surgery on it so I will be 20/20 in both eyes. Having  a cataract was the best thing I ever ended up experiencing as I came out BETTER than when I went in. Wish I had cataracts at age 5 so I could have led a life without the extreme nearsightedness I had for the bulk of my life. Eye surgeons do provide miracles and they seem almost instantaneous! In my case it was insanely a great experience. Good luck with your plight and look into Lion's Eye Clinic...they are in most large metro areas!
