I'm not a believer in the whole concept of "double dipping" or "triple dipping", to me it's just providing different format choices. If I went to a bookstore and found a nice high quality illustrated edition of "Ivanhoe" I wouldn't complain that they were double dipping because a new paperback edition just came out the year before. To me real double dipping would be if the did and expensive HC Captain Marvel, and then a year later did the exact same version but with a new cover and adding in the few Logan's Run pages.

I think the prime MMW goal is to have as complete a volume as is possible. If that means reprinting MTIO Annual 2 and Avengers Annual 7 for the fourth time then so be it as long as the book is complete for the few fans out there who may not be picking up Warlock, Avengers or MTIO MMWs. I only really have a problem with it when the amount of reprinted material is more than about a third of the book or more. In Captain Marvel's case, volumes #5 and #6 were likely to be thin volumes anyway and there really wasn't much relevant material that could be added to make them more substantial other than add the two annuals.

Not that they need to have it since now it should be a decent sized volume, but I would love to see the Logan's Run pages included volume #6, and I'm hoping that they might be able to dig up some production art for the DoCM GN to spice things up.

I essentially agreed until you stated that MTIO Annual 2 and Avengers Annual 7 would make the book complete. They are not Captain Marvel stories. Adam Warlock stories, yes (they were commissioned to wrap the cancelled series storyline), Avengers stories, yes. They are also recapped in Captain Marvel #57, appearing at the end of this volume, because it was assumed the Captain Marvel readers might not have read these two annuals.
But I guess if they had to pad that volume, it was a better choice than MTIO #45.
Possibly I could concede that would make the MMW series complete (due to Starlin's involvement before and after) rather than make that specific volume complete.
Wasn't #56 a better ending point? It completes the Edelman run.  #57 starts a new storyline dealing with Thanos' legacy and the return of the Destroyer.
