I just did a fast scroll through the entire DC Comics Time Capsule for October 1963, and I have to say, this was one of the better months!

In addition to some cracking-good house ads and more huge scans of beautiful comic covers supplied by Hepcat, there was an extended-but-episodic discussion of Batman, covering the pros and cons of Schwartz leaving Mystery in Space to institute "The New Look," and a debate of Weisinger and Schiff: Who Copied Whom?

I got my biggest comic-related laugh in a long time from Robin's comment in this panel posted by Osgood in his recap of "Mystery of Madcap Island":

Seattleguy contributed a nostalgic anecdote about finding a hoard of coverless Golden Age comics (the dream of every comic-book fan). And Alizarin1 made my favorite post of the month about the Screen Thrills Illustrated article covering the first Batman serial. Back in 1963, a friend had several issues of this wonderful magazine with features about comic book characters who transitioned into the serials. Three years later while Batmania was sweeping the country, all these articles were compiled in a single issue, and I was able to have them for my very own.

And finally, there's the dreaded Commander Benson! After posting an unusually fine and detailed recap of "Decoy Missions of the Justice League" which I greatly enjoyed, he went to great lengths to correct my blunder in thinking that Diana Prince was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy instead of the Army. And then, after I shared a light-hearted reminiscence of how a Twilight Zone episode scared the bejabbers out of me (which I thought was going to be a high-point of the entire thread), the Commander immediately posts a charming, warm-and-fuzzy tale of receiving an autograph from Myrna Loy, that completely overshadowed my story of potato-chip-flinging terror!

Commander Benson, you are now on my Arch Enemies List!!

Sigh! And after calling for a total defection from the DC Time Capsule over to the Masterworks Marathon, I guess I'll stick around next month, the month after, and the month after ad infinitum. I'm one of Peabody's People.
