The stories that Murphy Anderson inked were always a special treat.

Absolutely! The Adam Strange stories pencilled by Carmine Infantino and inked by Murphy Anderson were perhaps the best comic art of the early sixties. And Anderson's touch made most Justice League of America, Flash, Green Lantern and Atom covers things of beauty in the early sixties.

As I have stated before elsewhere I have come to regard the best inker for Infantino was Infantino.

I disagree strongly. I didn't like the artwork he did in the Elongated Man stories in Detective Comics where he inked his own pencils at all while anything he did for the Flash or Mystery in Space that was inked by Anderson was a treat for the eyes.

When Gil Kane took over his own inking in Green Lantern I found them too be too sloppy and nothing like those he had did on Johnny Thunder ten years before....

I couldn't agree more! I'd best describe Gil Kane's artwork from 1966 onward when he was inking his own pencils as wooden. Ironically though that's the style of Gil Kane artwork about which Marvel zombies enthuse.
