Since Commander has taken us through this month's JLA story, it's only proper that we take a look at that issue's LC, especially since it contained the first reaction to the landmark "Crisis on Earth-One".

Of course there's no surprise that Roy Thomas was represented, but there was another future pro who weighed in, a college kid from Illinois named Dave Cockrum. It's eerie to see him singing the praises of Mike Sekowsky and his ability to integrate all of the heroes and villains into the story, when Dave would be tasked with similar challenges of super-groups to juggle as he carved out his own artistic legacy in the 70s and 80s:

Over in Adventure Comics, reaction poured in to Lightning Lad's new lease on life. Mort would eventually handle the issue of Lightning Lass' duplicate powers raised by Ken Clarke from Tennessee, but he never got around to an imaginary Legion story as suggested by Ken Lowe of New York. E. Nelson Bridwell, who would soon be working for Weisinger, also checked in to bail him out on a plot point:

Finally, there were a couple of interesting points raised in this month's Action LC, including whether Supergirl should kiss more often, and a lesson in Kryptonian history from Mort:

"As for contentment, that is a myth.  Give a man everything he wishes and he will be unhappy, because he didn't wish for more; give him more, and he will die of his worries.  Only a turtle, asleep on a sunny log, knows contentment!"
