Beautiful covers as always Hepcat!

Here are some notable developments that took place this month...

In "The Mystery of Flash's Third Identity", Barry Allen meets Paul Gambi, revealed to be the tailor who designed all of those colorful costumes worn by the Rogues. Paul's moniker was an obvious tip of the hat to correspondent Paul Gambaccini, who later became a radio personality in the UK. Unless I'm mistaken, that makes Gambi the first recurring comic book character named after a fan:

Over in Adventure Comics, the LSH finally discovered the existence of the Substitute Legion in "The Legionnaire's Super-Contest":

While in Superboy #109's "Super-Dog that Replaced Krypto", it's revealed that the Boy of Steel has a secret hideaway on a distant asteroid, a precursor to the later Fortress of Solitude. It's obvious that Mort was setting this locale up for future stories, but as far as I know it was never mentioned again under his watch (though I do recall a post-Weisinger 70s tale where ENB references it):

As Commander Benson mentioned in a previous capsule, DC had numerous "semi-imaginary" tales published in the Silver Age. One notable example occurs in this month's Challs story "Sons of the Challengers", where a fortune teller gives the group a glimpse of their offspring in this amusing sequence:

As we count down the remaining months of the "Old Look" Batman, some mainstays would begin making their final appearances of the Silver Age. In this month's WF story "Secret of the Captive Cavemen", we got our last glimpse of Professor Carter Nichols, bringing down the curtain on two decades of time travel escapades for the Caped Crusaders:

"As for contentment, that is a myth.  Give a man everything he wishes and he will be unhappy, because he didn't wish for more; give him more, and he will die of his worries.  Only a turtle, asleep on a sunny log, knows contentment!"
