I own all of the Cochran hardbound/slipcased B&W reprints from the first go around. I've beeen tempted to get into the color archives, but have been hesitating as i want to see if the printing schedule will continue onward (I was disapointed with the DC Archive of Mad, as it stopped with the first volume). I'm okay with a slight delay, just don't want to see the process abandoned. I know that you do not have a crystal ball, but:

You're in a similar situation to many EC collectors, including myself. Many of us bought Russ's B&W slipcased editions and are in a dilemna as to whether to buy the Archives. It was a concern when we started the Archives. But to our surprise, many of the people who purchased those slipcase editions are buying these too. For Russ, this is the way he originally wanted to reprint the slipcase editions, in full color, but he couldn't afford it (aside from the MAD set). The recent schedule delay for the Archives was merely a bump in the road. If you bought Russ's B&W slipcases then you must remember some of the VERY long delays between those sets. If that didn't scare you off of those, then our minor hiccup shouldn't bother you.

does the response look encouraging for the volumes printed?

Very encouraging. They're selling very well. It even surprised me.

if a volume sells out, will you consider going back to print (I know its little early to be thinking down that line).

I can't say for certain on this. I would think if demand was high enough for a reprint run we would do it.

i was hoping to see these in Borders (they do offer 30% off coupons on a routine basis if you're a member of their rewards program).

The Archives should be in most bookstore chains. If you don't see it there then it's because the store didn't order it. Maybe you can ask your local store to order it for you.
