I have heard reports that say (I have to admit I haven't seen the EC archives myself yet) that the paper is too white for this kind of color and artwork. Any possibilites of changing to matte paper or better yet, an uncoated matte paper like the one used in the spirit archives? I think the Spirit paper would be the best for the EC stories. It retains somthing of that "old look" and the colors looks fabulous cause the paper absorbs part of it preventing it from looking too garish. Any changes about changing the paper you are using now or is it going to remain the white stock?

I haven't heard complaints about our paper stock. We tried to go for a less glossy stock, but not a non-coated stock like THE SPIRIT. I don't think you can compare EC with THE SPIRIT. One of our selling points is our use of the current coloring technology. EC was always known for its coloring, thanks to Marie's talents. What we're trying to do is color these books as if Marie had today's technology at her disposal. In fact, I've read several reviews praising the white paper and the reproduction of the art, and that it makes it look brand new. We are always thinking about how we can improve the books. Russ and I recently spoke about the paper stock and are considering a less glossy stock, still coated, but less glossy. I'll keep everyone updated on our final decision.
