The compactness of these Atlas hero tales hasn't been as much as a drawback as I was expecting. They obviously would have benefited from some additional pages, but the end results are nonetheless more satisfying than I expected. They really follow the template of the other Atlas material of the times (especially the horror titles). It's a shame that the same readers who went in for Atlas' horror/crime/war titles didn't apparently accept these super-hero entries. I suspect those particular Atlas readers looked down on super-heroes as kiddie fare, while fans of super-folk might have found the appearance of the new Atlas efforts too dark and grungey (akin to Atlas' other genre titles) to take a chance on. Never the twain shall meet.
