And since then, we've seen the return of quite a few characters (most notably, Bucky). Already because of that quote, and what happened after he said it, I don't like him.

Plus, he let "Sins Past" happen.

Well, personally, if I were EIC I'd be a bit more heavy-handed and routinely shoot down ideas like Sins Past. But Joe's philosophy is, hire great talent and let them do what they will. Actually, though I think Sins Past is fundamentally misguided work from a writer who simply doesn't get Spider-Man, I think the Winter Soldier stuff is actually quite good. As for "Dead is Dead", Joe has repeatedly maintained that "Dead is Dead" unless there is a potentially great story to be told; and furthermore, that he has changed his mind occasionally when circumstances have changed, and that he will continue to allow himself to be flexible.

And bottom line: although there's not much current stuff from Marvel I want to read, I am seriously in the minority. The company has been revitalized under Joe; the numbers don't lie.

Personally, I blame Millar.

Oh...and everyone should go to their comic shops RIGHT NOW and buy Buffy #1...a great book from a great Marvel writer whom Joe brought on board.
