In #75's LC, there were some interesting letters critiquing Infantino's futuristic designs in "Multiple Menace Weapon", although Paul Gambaccini took issue with everyone being bald. There were also some cute letters from readers angling for the free artwork, or nitpicking the stories.

And then, about midway through the second page, there's the letter from the honorable "Lord Hume". He delivers as blistering an attack on a comic book that I've ever read in a letter column! My first inclination was it's just too over-the-top to be genuine (Monty Python fans - read it back using Graham Chapman's voice and you'll see what I mean!). On the other hand, I figure Julie must have been convinced of its authenticity to drop such a bombshell. The irony is that Sir Hume took umbrage at what was then arguably the most sophisticated comic book on the stands. One can only imagine his horror if he had ever picked up an issue of Jimmy Olsen!!:
