I have always enjoyed his work where I found it, even if I didn't go looking for it intentionally in the 60s and 70s. Although I was mostly character driven in purchases back then, the first time I found it was in Angel & the Ape, then in Supergirl, and as an inker on Superman.

I had forgotten the Mary Marvel work until I saw it above, but now remember being impressed by it at the time.

Mr. Oksner could certainly teach a thing or three about sequential storytelling to some of today's more flashy "illustrative" artists...and I'm sure they would welcome it.

I look forward to seeing more examples and info. from his earlier career. May he rest in peace and may his family be comforted. He gave us much comics reading enjoyment!
