Ditto what DDD said. I love reading that stuff in those big hardcover books, and eagerly look forward to the next, but honestly, I look forward to issues of Avengers today way more than I did during the tail end of Busiek/Perez or the Johns/Austen era.
Interestingly, I "returned to comics" via DDD's very copies of Busiek/Perez Avengers. I read #1 not too long after it initially came out (about a year or so) and said, "Ahhh...they're writing comics for ME again!" Really enjoyed them, still do. But comics have evolved a lot since then, and I'm glad that they have.
